On June 17, for the first time in four years, more than 150 lake monitoring volunteers, LakeSmart volunteers, lake association members, and other lake enthusiasts will gather for the Together for Healthy Lakes Conference at the China Lake Conference Center. The conference is jointly sponsored by Lake Stewards of Maine and Maine Lakes, both well-known and well-respected state-wide nonprofits that focus on lake conservation and lake health. Many guest speakers have been lined up to give presentations on lake science, emerging issues, and other topics that directly affect all those who live, work, or play on Maine's lakes.
