Lake Associations are at our core!
Our member associations are our essential partners in keeping Maine’s lakes healthy.
Maine Lakes works with more than 130 member lake associations to pursue lake-friendly policies in their community. We offer them resources, guidance, and consultations with our staff and outside experts on a number of topics. As Maine Lakes members, associations also have access to conservation and outreach programs, including the award-winning Lake Host, LakeSmart, and more.
Lake associations unite lakefront property owners in our common mission to preserve the lakes they love—which is also the best way to protect their property values.
Some lake associations were initially formed to address a specific problem, like invasive aquatic plants or a crumbling dam, but most now pursue the broader mission to preemptively protect the ecosystem of a lake before problems can take root.
